Ms.Wilder has been an accomplished dancer and choreographer for over 25 years with a BA in Psychology and a Dance Concentration in Modern. She started dancing at the age of 4 and has studied various styles of dance such as tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, lyrical and break dance. During her early years, she began learning dance techniques at a local dance studio in Red Bank, NJ. She danced for many years and was given the stage name Rocky due to how hard she rocked the stage while dancing. Ms. Wilder choreographed dance pieces throughout her years and was honored at the North Carolina Association for Dance Educators. Ms. Wilder's teaching has brought competition teams in North Carolina and New Jersey 1st Place and Platinum trophies as well as special entertainment awards. Ms. Wilder loves culture and urban dance movement; She has danced with International Bboy Competitor, Moises Rocha, studied under Tabitha D'umo’s Monsters of Hip Hop and performed for underground hip hop artists at First Look Sessions. She has also trained with Penny Godboldo in Katherine Duhnam Technique.
As her lifelong dream was to create a venue where she can share her devoted passion with others, in 2011 Ms. Wilder transformed her dreams into reality and founded NYC Dance Arts which is a dance company that provides artistic opportunities for adults who continue to aspire to dance. Roshelle has brought growth to her company with its creative classes, innovative workshops, professional dance company, entertainment team, community outreach programs and partnership with NBC, MTV and FOX television network.
Ms. Wilder has created phenomenal repertory with her professional dance company and produced five major dance productions titled “FEVER” in March 2012 at The 45th Street Theatre in Manhattan (Midtown), NY, “URBAN NATIVE” in July 2012 at Shelter Studios & Theatres in Manhattan (Midtown), NY, "ROOTS" in April 2013 at the 133rd Street Arts Center in Manhattan (Uptown), NY, "MIND, BODY & SOUL" in April 2014 at the 133rd Street Arts Center in Manhattan (Uptown), NY and "BLACK" in April 2015 at Teatro LATEA in Manhattan (Lower East Side). Ms. Wilder has also produced her company's annual festival known as the NYC Dance Arts Dance Festival. Ms. Wilder has lead her professional dance company to perform at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater Hatch Spring Series, Choreographer's Coffeehouse, Biomorphic Dance Festival, NYC10 Dance Initiative, WaxWorks, Amalgamate Artist Series, PMT Spring Dance Series, LUNGS Harvest Festival, NYC Dance Parade & DanceFest, NYC Bhangra Festival along with her entertainment team to perform for NY Red Bulls at Red Bulls Area, NY Liberty at the Prudential Center in NJ , NY Liberty at Madison Square Garden, the Brooklyn Nets at Barclay Center, the Lions at Columbia University, the NY Mets at Citi Field and Harlem Globetrotters at Madison Square Garden. Her brand has made partnership with NBC, MTV, FOX television network and also has promotional affiliation with World of Dance . Most recently, NYC Dance Arts has partnered with CAS Trips International and is newly recognized as a lifestyle brand.
